Job description

We have an immediate need for a Program Facilitator position in the Greater Pittsburgh region. The Program Facilitator is responsible for delivering high-quality, research-based programming that empowers girls to be Strong, Smart, and Bold. This role will lead direct
services for Girls Inc.'s programming, fostering a supportive, girl-centered environment while helping to develop critical skills in leadership, self-confidence, and academic success. As an integral player in the Programs Department, this part-time, non-exempt position will support broader program initiatives and community engagement efforts as needed. The pay range for the Program Facilitator is $17 - $20/hour , up to 25.0 hours per week.

What we're looking for

Reporting to the Program Manager, the Program Facilitator will directly impact the lives of girls within the community by facilitating a new, engaging middle school program. In addition to planning and delivering educational workshops, this role creates a supportive, inclusive environment where girls can flourish. The ideal candidate is mission-focused, community-oriented, and enthusiastic about being part of a national movement dedicated to fostering the next generation of empowered women. Additionally, the Program Facilitator supports the analysis of program data and outcomes to identify meaningful insights that inform impact assessment and continuous program effectiveness.

Given that this role will work in a hybrid work model and report to the office up to two days per week, only candidates who are based within commuting distance of the GIGP office will be given consideration.
What you'll be doing

The primary responsibilities and duties of the Program Facilitator position include the following essential functions:

Program Delivery & Facilitation (80%)
  • Lead engaging, interactive sessions for participants at Girls Inc. sites, ensuring programming aligns with the Girls Inc. mission.
  • Build strong relationships with girls, fostering a safe and supportive space for learning and growth.
  • Implement structured curricula that address leadership, STEM, health and wellness, self-advocacy, and social-emotional development.
  • Adapt lessons to meet the needs of diverse learners and ensure cultural responsiveness.
  • Maintain a welcoming and inclusive environment, prioritizing gender equity, diversity, and empowerment.
Program Support & Community Engagement (10%)
  • Assist in developing and refining school programming to align with best practices and participant needs.
  • Collaborate with schools, community organizations, and partners to strengthen program reach and impact. S
  • Support occasional community-based initiatives and special projects that further Girls Inc.'s mission.
  • Represent Girls Inc. at outreach events, school meetings, and community partner engagements.
Evaluation and Reporting (10%)
  • Maintain accurate attendance, program notes, and success stories for reporting purposes.
  • Assist the Data Lead in gathering impact data to support grant reporting and organizational storytelling.
What you'll bring along

Education & Experience: High school diploma or equivalent is required. Minimum of two years of experience (the equivalent years of education may be considered for substitution) working with youth in an educational or nonprofit setting.

Other Required Qualifications: To be optimally successful in this role, the ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • Passion for youth development and a deep commitment to gender equity and social justice.
  • Strong facilitation and classroom management skills with the ability to engage middle school students in meaningful discussions and activities.
  • Experience working with diverse populations and an understanding of trauma-informed approaches.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Availability for some evening and weekend programming as needed.
  • Proficient in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office applications.
