Job summary

Girls Inc. of Greater Atlanta is seeking a Program Facilitator to support its programming at multiple sites including center- and school-based programs.

The role requires promoting girls’ wellbeing, confidence, and long-term participation, while mentoring and modeling professional behavior. Ideal candidates will have experience with girls ages 5–18, strong communication skills, and the ability to work across diverse settings.

Responsibilities

• Flexibility to work with all grade levels and travel to various Girls Inc. sites

• Collaborate with partner schools to obtain student attendance, behavior, and academic information
• Design and implement mission-related activities and events
• Maintain professionalism and focus on quality in program delivery
• Remain current on issues related to girls and children
• Uphold safety regulations at centers, schools or outreach sites
• Respond timely to information requests and meet deadlines

The mission of Girls Inc. of Greater Atlanta is to inspire all girls to be strong, smart, and bold. Our comprehensive approach to whole-girl development equips girls to navigate gender, economic, and social barriers and grow up healthy, educated, and independent. Informed by girls and their families, we also advocate for legislation and policies to increase opportunities for all girls and address the systemic barriers that impede girls’ success.

Job Summary

The Program Facilitator is a position that facilitates Girls Inc. programming at one of our multiple program sites, which include center-based, school-based, and weekend programs. At all times, carries themselves as a role model/mentor to girls includes promoting their well-being, development, confidence, and success. This individual motivates and inspires girls to be active participants in program activities, promoting their long-term participation in Girls Inc. and providing evaluation and feedback to ensure program relevance for girls.

Desired qualities include patience, compassion, consistency, creativity, and motivation to excel. We require direct experience working with girls ages 5-18 and a demonstrable understanding of child development. The Program Facilitator also must demonstrate maturity and have excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communications skills.

Principal Responsibilities

• Flexibility to work with all grade levels and ability to work at or travel to various Girls Inc. sites
• Ability to lift 10 to 20 lbs
• Prepare and teach research-based, age-appropriate programs and curricula using programming developed by Girls Inc. as the cornerstone of instruction.
• Provide high-quality, comprehensive Girls Inc. experience and programs to girls in school settings
• Work with our partner schools to gain student record information such as attendance, behavior and academic information
• Design and implement mission-related activities and events
• Maintain a high level of professionalism and attention to quality in all aspects of program delivery and work in general
• Maintain positive outcomes and program/concept comprehension from girls
• Prepare program goals and objectives around signature Girls Inc. programs in collaboration with direct supervisor
• Ensure program goals and outcomes are evaluated, analyzed, and formally reported in timely fashion
• Collaborate with other youth and human-serving organizations to develop and implement quality programming as needed
• Participates in conferences, forums, and workshops that support professional development and expand skills and knowledge base in the various areas of youth development
• Remain current on issues related to girls and children
• Operate in accordance with the policies and procedures of Girls Inc.
• Work cooperatively with other staff and supervisors
• Participate in staff meetings and peer workgroups to share ideas and concerns and works collaboratively with other staff to meet agency and program area goals
• Uphold and rules and safety regulations when working at a center, school or outreach site
• Provide timely responses to all requests for information and all meet all deadlines provided
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required

• Associate’s degree
• 21 or older Clean driving record
• Capable of driving 15 passenger van
• Minimum of three years’ experience working in a youth organization or a related field
• Experience working with girls ages 5-18
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and appropriately with children and to foster their engagement in problem-solving and decision-making
• Able to develop and maintain effective working relationships with staff and volunteers, and to facilitate collaboration among people with diverse backgrounds and skill levels
• Flexibility in hours and ability to problem solve
• Strong attention to detail
• Able to work effectively with minimal direct supervision

• Bachelor’s degree or higher
• Teaching certification, skills and/or experience
