Job description

Build Products. Solve Problems. Grow Your Career With Us.

At Maysteel, we don't just build products-we build careers.

We are a growing contract sheet metal manufacturer serving customers in exciting and evolving markets. Our success comes from people who enjoy solving problems, working with others, taking ownership, and seeing an idea go from a customer's concept to a finished product on the production floor.

We're looking for a Program Engineer who wants to be at the center of that process.

This is an on-site position located in Allenton, Wisconsin. Candidates must be able to work on-site in Allenton.

Maysteel is unable to provide visa sponsorship or relocation assistance for this position.

What You'll Do

As a Program Engineer, you'll lead new product development programs from concept through production readiness. You'll work closely with customers, Business Development, Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Estimating, Finance, and other teams to turn customer requirements into manufacturable, cost-effective products.

You'll be the engineering leader for your programs, keeping projects moving, identifying risks, solving problems, coordinating resources, and making sure everyone is working toward the same goal.

You'll have the opportunity to:

  • Lead cross-functional teams through Maysteel's New Product Development and Phase Gate process

  • Take new products from concept and design through production readiness

  • Partner directly with customers to understand requirements and develop solutions

  • Lead design reviews, problem-solving activities, failure analysis, and technical discussions

  • Develop project timelines, coordinate resources, manage risks, and track project costs

  • Work closely with our Tech Center, Tool Room, Operations, and Manufacturing Engineering teams

  • Help develop capable, efficient manufacturing and assembly processes alongside product design

  • Analyze designs, drawings, 3D models, BOMs, and manufacturing requirements

  • Support engineering changes and product revisions throughout the product lifecycle

  • Prepare and present project updates to customers, leadership, and internal teams

  • Work with Finance and other functions to understand cost drivers and validate product costs

  • Provide technical support and help solve complex engineering challenges across the organization

Why Maysteel?

We believe great people don't want to simply take a job, they want to build something and grow!

At Maysteel, you'll have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of products, customers, and engineering challenges rather than being limited to one project or one part of the process. You'll gain exposure to the entire product development lifecycle and work alongside experienced professionals across engineering, manufacturing, quality, operations, and business development.

We are committed to growing our people from within. As Maysteel continues to grow, there will be opportunities to expand your technical expertise, take on larger and more complex programs, develop leadership skills, and build a long-term career with us.

Come make a career with us, not just a stop along the way.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is technically strong, curious, and comfortable taking ownership. You don't have to have every answer-but you should enjoy figuring things out and bringing the right people together to solve challenging problems.

Ideally, you'll have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 3-4+ years of manufacturing product development engineering experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Experience leading cross-functional product development or program management activities

  • Sheet metal design experience

  • Experience with SolidWorks and/or Pro/E 3D modeling

  • Ability to interpret and analyze engineering drawings, prints, models, and product designs

  • Knowledge of tools such as FMEA, DOE, QFD, DFMA, FEA, and advanced failure analysis/problem solving

  • Strong project management, organizational, and communication skills

  • Ability to work effectively with customers and cross-functional teams

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills

  • Willingness to travel approximately 15%, including occasional domestic and international travel

CSWPA-SM certification is a plus.

The Kind of Person Who Thrives Here

You're someone who sees a problem and wants to solve it.

You're comfortable taking the lead, asking questions, digging into the details, and making things happen. You can work independently, but you know that the best solutions often come from bringing the right people together.

You're energized by new challenges and enjoy learning new products, technologies, processes, and ways of doing things. You take pride in your work, follow through on commitments, and aren't afraid to stand behind an idea when you believe it's the right solution.

Most importantly, you want to make an impact and continue growing.

Ready to Build Your Career With Maysteel?

If you're looking for an engineering role where you can use your technical skills, work directly with customers, lead meaningful projects, and continue expanding your career, we'd love to meet you.

Bring your ideas. Bring your problem-solving mindset. Bring your ambition.
