Job description

Position Overview

Program Director, Physician Assistant Program (Position Number: 009889). This 12‑month tenure‑track faculty position will report to the Dean of the Hairston College of Health and Human Sciences. The Director oversees all aspects of the Physician Assistant (PA) Program, including organization, management, fiscal oversight, continuous review and analysis, curriculum planning, clinical site development, faculty and staff supervision, program assessment, and maintaining accreditation with the Accreditation Review Committee on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC‑PA). The Director collaborates with Admission, Marketing and Communication to recruit students and ensure compliance with accreditation standards.

Responsibilities
  • Organize, manage, and provide fiscal oversight of the PA Program.
  • Continuously review and analyze the program, develop plans and implementations, and coordinate program assessment.
  • Ensure compliance with ARC‑PA accreditation standards and maintain accreditation documentation.
  • Develop and oversee clinical site placements, supervise faculty and program staff.
  • Coordinate recruitment activities with Admission, Marketing and Communication.
Minimum Requirements
  • Master's degree or higher in physician assistant studies or a related field.
  • Current or emeritus NCCPA certification and eligibility for a PA license in North Carolina.
  • Minimum of three years of full‑time higher education experience and three years of health‑care experience.
  • Commitment to inclusive education and development of cultural competencies.
  • Experience with accreditation processes.
  • Experience in personnel‑related issues and efficient responsiveness.
  • Knowledge of ARC‑PA program director responsibilities and policies.

  • Doctoral degree in a health, education, or administrative discipline.
  • Experience in curriculum development, evaluation, instruction, and program administration.

  • Strong interpersonal abilities with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Work Arrangement

On‑site. Employees are primarily in the office and/or have a critical job requirement that requires dedicated office space on‑site.
