Job summary

Bay Area Community Resources (BACR) is seeking a Program Director for California Emergency Response Corps (CERC) to lead strategic planning, program development, and interagency collaboration. The role oversees staff supervision, budget management, and deployment coordination across California, with hybrid work in the San Francisco Bay Area and required travel.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of program management experience in nonprofit settings, strong communication skills, and proficiency

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of broad experience in managing and developing programs.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact effectively with other community agencies.
• Ability to work independently while remaining engaged in a strong, mutually respectful team.
• Clear, friendly and professional public speaking manner.
• Excellent writing skills.
• Willingness to work weekends and/or evenings.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Access) and Salesforce.
• Ability to handle multiple projects and prioritize.
• Must have their own vehicle and provide car insurance.

Responsibilities

• Guide CERC to fulfill its mission by forming plans of approach for challenges.
• Recruitment, selection and retention of ACMs and staff; expansion/reduction of the program; deployments.
• Develop and maintain relationships with partner agencies and stakeholders.
• Lead in securing funding proposals to government agencies and foundations.
• Oversee program budget, expenses, staff time sheets, and salary reviews.
• Supervise deployment requests, coordinate assignments, and travel needs.
• Supervise CERC staff and conduct performance evaluations; provide coaching and support.
