Job summary

Creative Living Options, Inc is seeking a Program Director, Independent Living Services (ILS) to lead the delivery of Independent Living Services and supervise ILS staff. The role focuses on consumer autonomy, skill development, and community integration within Title 17 guidelines and regional center expectations.

You will collaborate with regional centers, families, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure outcomes are effective and fade of supports where appropriate.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Independent Living philosophy and Title 17.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the coordination and delivery of Independent Living Services.
• Supervise Independent Living Instructors, including hiring, coaching, performance management, and discipline when necessary.
• Ensure services align with consumer IPP outcomes and promote independence in daily living, community participation, financial management, health and safety awareness, and self-advocacy.
• Ensure service delivery supports consumer independence and minimizes reliance on paid support where appropriate.
• Oversee assessments and onboarding of new consumers into ILS services.
• Ensure service hours are utilized appropriately and in alignment with authorized services.
• Monitor quality of documentation, including progress notes, outcome tracking, and service delivery records.
• Provide guidance to staff on effective skill-teaching strategies and fading supports.
• Conduct regular supervision meetings with Independent Living Instructors.
• Collaborate with Regional Centers and interdisciplinary teams.
• Maintain communication with families and circles of support as appropriate to the ILS model.
• Partner with Human Resources to recruit, onboard, and support ILS staff.
• Oversee staff training related to skill development methodologies, boundaries, and promoting independence.
• Support inter-agency collaboration and community resource development.
• Participate in strategic planning and leadership meetings.
• Represent CLO externally when appropriate.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Creative Living Options is a nonprofit organization that provides services funded pursuant to the Lanterman Developmental Disabilities Act under vendorization with Alta California Regional Center. The Program Director, Independent Living Services (ILS) oversees the delivery of Independent Living Services that promote consumer autonomy, skill development, and successful community integration. This position ensures services are provided in alignment with Title 17 regulations, regional center expectations, and CLO standards while providing leadership to Independent Living Instructors and ensuring services are focused on building independence through skill acquisition, coaching, and fading of support. The Program Director, ILS works collaboratively with regional centers, families, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure services are effective and outcome-driven.

Mandatory Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree OR five (5) years experience in Independent Living Services or related developmental disability services.
• Minimum two (2) years supervisory experience.
• Working knowledge of Independent Living philosophy and Title 17 expectations.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to obtain and maintain CPR / First Aid certification and Pro-ACT certification.
