06 Valley Physician Services is seeking a Program Director for Hospice and Palliative Care Fellowship. This key role involves designing and operating a new training program while maintaining a clinical practice at Valley Hospital in Paramus, NJ.

Job description

Program Director – Hospice and Palliative Care Fellowship

Valley Health System in affiliation with the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai is actively recruiting a Program Director for Hospice and Palliative Care Fellowship. This position presents the opportunity to design, develop and operate a new training program as well as maintain a clinical practice at VHS.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop and operate a new training program.
  • Maintain a clinical practice.
  • Provide quality education in a clinical environment, serving diverse patients.
  • Contribute to peer reviewed journals and work with residents to foster scholarly activity.
  • Assist with program growth and maintain a broad scope of practice to meet the needs of the Fellowship program and the community at large.
  • Spend 80% of time performing clinical duties and 20% performing administrative duties as the fellowship program director.

Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathic Medicine.
  • Unrestricted license to practice medicine in New Jersey.
  • Board certification in Palliative Care and Hospice Medicine.
  • Minimum 3 years of Graduate Medical Education experience, GME leadership preferred.
  • Maintain CME credit hours required for board certification and/or hospital staff privileges.
  • Maintain up-to-date credentials: CV, license, DEA, CDS, Board Certification, and documentation of hospital admitting privileges.
  • Proven relationship‑building skills with physicians and other key stakeholders.
  • Problem resolution and strong analytical abilities.
  • Integrity and the ability to lead change and build consensus.
  • Solid clinical and data‑related analytical skills.
  • Serve as a role model for collegiality and collaboration across the organization.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary range $210,000–$220,000.
