Job summary

Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED) is seeking a part-time Program Director of the Fellowship in Academic Medicine – Clinical Education (FAME-E) to lead curriculum development, instructor coordination, and program administration within the Division of Strategy and Transformation.

This 20% effort role requires collaborating with affiliate education partners to meet customer needs and align with ACGME standards.

Qualifications

  • Terminal degree in relevant field (MD, DO, PhD, EdD).
  • Five years’ experience in academic medicine.
  • Knowledge and experience of curriculum development and instructional design principles for adult education.
  • Experience in a role supporting graduate medical education teaching, research, or operations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead curriculum development and oversee program content.
  • Recruit and supervise program instructors and coordinate with affiliate organizations.
  • Coordinate all program events and learning environments, online and in-person.
  • Manage annual FAME-E program budget and program marketing materials.
  • Evaluate learner outcomes and supervise learner progression and final projects.

Summary

The Program Director of the Fellowship in Academic Medicine – Clinical Education ( FAME -E) program is responsible for administrating and serving as subject matter expert in all aspects of the FAME -E program and leading program administrative functions.

Principal Functional Responsibilities

Program Leadership and Curriculum Oversight: Lead FAME -E program curriculum development, review, and content creation. Recruit and supervise program instructors, as necessary. Partner with subject-matter counterparts at affiliate organizations to ensure the program meets customer needs. Support program marketing, registration, and learner selection, as needed. Meet regularly with the Executive Director for Executive & Affiliate Education to provide program updates and collaborate on program development and administration. Integrate expertise and experience with Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education ( ACGME ) requirements in clinical education and dissemination of education research into the FAME -E program curriculum and learner mentorship. Lead curriculum content development as subject matter expert on evolving principles in medical education including curriculum development, academic technology, ACGME standards, etc. Coordinate all program events and learning environments, online and in-person.

Student Support and Assessment: Mentor and coach program learners. Promote the professional development of the learners in the program by connecting them with resources and other NEOMED Executive Education opportunities. Collaborate with the Executive Education support team to ensure a high level of customer service and responsiveness to learners’ needs and questions. Attend synchronous learning sessions as needed. Supervise completion of learner assignments and program progression. Meet with learners requiring additional support. Evaluate learner assignment submissions and final projects.

Executive Education Instruction & Support: As workload, experience, and educational qualifications permit, provide learner and curriculum development support in other Executive Education programs at the discretion of the Executive Director for Executive & Affiliate Education. Budget and Administrative Responsibilities: Manage and prepare annual FAME -E program budget in coordination with the Executive Director for Executive & Affiliate Education. Provide program and content-specific marketing materials to support Executive Education marketing goals and strategies. Prepare program reports as requested.


Program Evaluation: Assess and improve the FAME -E curriculum based on learner feedback and program reviews. Oversee administration of learner outcomes assessment and program evaluation. Prepare annual program review report.


Miscellaneous Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to utilize a phone, computer and other office equipment. Must be able and willing to travel to off-site events and educational sessions.
