Job summary

The Mental Health Association in Montclair, NJ is seeking a Program Director to lead the Center for Behavioral Health and the Riskin Children’s Center. The role manages program operations, clinical supervision, and collaboration with medical leadership to deliver comprehensive services.

Responsibilities include oversight of clinical, billing, and administrative functions, staff development, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a mental health discipline with a professional license (LCSW preferred).
• At least five years of experience in mental health services and two years of supervisory experience.
• Strong leadership and team-building skills to inspire staff and foster teamwork.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, for 24-hour crisis availability.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of CBH and RCC including clinical, marketing, and financial functions.
• Recruit staff and supervise performance outcomes; provide clinical supervision to licensed staff and interns.
• Monitor billing procedures with Medicaid/Medicare and other insurers; track claims payment status.
• Ensure clinical staff deliver individual, group, and family treatment in consultation with medical leadership.
• Develop performance improvement measures; oversee utilization reviews and quality assurance.
• Maintain statistical reports for NJ oversight bodies and ensure regulatory documentation.
• Ensure license and accreditation obligations; manage Part-time psychiatrists/APN.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Director of Clinical Services.
