Job summary

MS129 Academy for Independent Learning & Leadership in the Bronx seeks a Program Director to lead the COMPASS afterschool program onsite and virtually. You will supervise staff, coordinate enrollment, and ensure engaging activities and safety for children.

You will liaise with school staff, families, and DOE/DOH/OCFS/DYCD, producing timely reports and maintaining compliance while overseeing budget and program evaluation. Weekend trainings and occasional evenings are required.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree or equivalent with credential options specified.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in youth development programs and supervision.
• Ability to engage in crisis intervention and lead activities.
• Weekend training availability required.
• Commitment to strength-based youth development.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and supervision for the COMPASS afterschool program.
• Schedule program and staff activities; supervise staff and evaluations.
• Develop and lead weekly staff meetings.
• Coordinate enrollment, registration, and outreach.
• Oversee age-appropriate activities and student safety.
• Communicate with parents about expectations and health/safety.
• Maintain required program documentation and reports.
• Collaborate with school staff and DOE/DOH/OCFS/OCFS agencies.
• Manage partnerships with community groups and other GS programs.
• Monitor budget and program evaluation activities.
