Job summary

Tufts University’s Africana Center seeks an Associate Center Director to design and implement community engagement programs for students of African descent and related identities. You will work closely with the Center Director to manage projects, meetings, and partnerships across campus to uplift student growth and achievement.

The role involves grant writing, program oversight, and collaboration with multiple departments to advance scholarship within an affirming campus climate.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and 5 years of experience in student development or related educational setting.
• Strong organizational, managerial, and written/oral communication skills.
• Experience with grant writing or fundraising.
• Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in higher education.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement community engagement programs for the Africana Center.
• Collaborate with Center Director and campus partners to manage projects.
• Oversee daily operations, budgets, and program evaluation.
• Write grants and proposals to secure funding for center initiatives.
• Coordinate staff, peer leaders, and student programs.
• Represent the Center in campus collaborations and outreach.
