Job summary

Tufts University’s Africana Center seeks an Associate Center Director to lead student-facing programs, oversee daily operations, and advance initiatives that support scholars of African descent and diverse identities.

You will partner with campus offices, design seminars and workshops, manage the Peer Leader program, write grants, and help prepare reports while building an affirming, inclusive campus climate.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting student growth and development in educational settings.
• Strong organizational, managerial and oral and written communication skills.
• Awareness of how social identities impact the college student experience.
• Experience writing grants or proposals for funding opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement community engagement programs for students.
• Collaborate with campus offices to support Africana Center initiatives.
• Write grants and proposals for new funding opportunities or continued support.
• Oversee Africana Center events and the Peer Leader Program.
• Prepare annual reports and assess program outcomes.
