RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Oversee all program components, including staff, training and development; client assessment, service plan development and progress; relationships with other community-based organizations; and components specific to the program.
  2. Supervise three or more contracts or over 20 employees in the program.
  3. Recruit, train, and supervise assistant directors, coordinators, and direct service staff.
  4. Administer personnel policies and procedures.
  5. Develop regular communication with contract managers for programs supervised; act as liaison with funding sources.
  6. Ensure all programs meet contractual goals and reporting requirements.
  7. Monitor program progress and submit all required reports to funding sources, including government and private sources.
  8. Submit internal progress reports to the Department Director and/or Executive Director on a monthly basis, or more frequently as required.
  9. Plan and develop budgets, and work with fiscal staff to ensure that collection of payments from funding sources is current.
  10. Monitor fiscal expenses and analyze fiscal reports on a monthly basis.
  11. Prepare proposals for program development, expansion, and continuation in coordination with the Department Director.
  12. Hold monthly individual supervision meetings with staff and group meetings as necessary.
  13. Act as a link between the administrative office, fiscal department, and program staff.
  14. Monitor staff performance, including performing case reviews and structured observations.
  15. Participate in, and encourage staff to become involved in, agency events.
  16. Act as a liaison with the community, including the local community district.
  17. Perform additional duties as assigned by the manager.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's Degree in Social Work or a related field.
  • LMSW or LCSW certification.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in a related field.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, as well as time management and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other standard business technologies.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to use a computer for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, or sit for long periods.
  • Ability to climb five flights of stairs, if required for home visits or fieldwork.
  • Ability to bend and retrieve objects or documents.
  • Ability to travel within New York City boroughs and adjacent counties via public transportation.
  • Ability to travel at least 1 mile in all weather conditions, if required for home visits or fieldwork.
