The role requires implementing Michigan licensing policies, planning professional development, managing inspections, and fostering a culture of diversity and teamwork within the center.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education required.
• Ability to communicate positively with children, families, partners, and team members.
• Ability to lead a team of up to twenty people and work well in a collaborative setting.
• Open to constructive criticism and committed to learning and growth.

Responsibilities

• Oversee overall operations of the childcare center.
• Ensure compliance with Michigan childcare licensing rules and related programs.
• Enforce center policies and ensure adherence.
• Manage inspections and licensing renewals with the owner.
• Attend Monthly Director meetings and coordinate professional development events.

• Minimum of one- year Assistant Director experience.
• Minimum of Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education

Program Management and Operations:

• Implements all policies and procedures in accordance with Caterpillar Corner Childcare’s vision, mission, philosophy, and core values.
• Implements all policies and procedures in accordance with the State of Michigan’s Child Care Licensing Division.
• Takes enforcement action when policies are not followed.
• Ensure the center operates in compliance with licensing rules for Childcare centers in the State of Michigan, the CACFP, Early Head Start, Head Start, GSRP, and the State of Michigan’s Child Development and Care Subsidy Program.
• Manage all inspections and the licensing renewal process in conjunction with the center owner.
• Attend Monthly Director’s EHS/HS/GSRP Meetings
• Plan Professional Development Days, All Training, FIP Meetings
