Job Description:

World Vision International Nepal's one-year Traineeship Program, running from January to December, provides fresh Nepali graduates with practical work experience, professional development, mentoring, and opportunities to contribute to WVI Nepal's work while gaining valuable skills and experience for their future careers.


The trainee will provide support to the GAM unit primarily and other Program Development and Quality (PDQ) team members for the smooth day to day functions of the PDQ Department.


The role will provide support in regular business, program design, coordinate among members of PDQ and other department/unit team members for information collection and analysis, administrative tasks, meetings, training and workshop arrangement and keeping record of department meeting and tracking of the progress on PDQ department key deliverables.


The role requires working with data as well as organizational, time management, and relationship management skills, coupled with dynamic coordination capabilities to drive results across various stakeholders.


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Support program team in quality program and project design and implementation

  • Work closely with Grants Acquisition team and cross-functional department/units to develop concept notes and proposals.

  • Support Grants Acquisition team and NLab team on program design, strategic consortium partnerships, and for quality proposals/concept notes.

  • Take the lead to prepare the Private Non-Sponsorship (PNS) proposal/concept notes in support of Grants Acquisition team and NLab team.

  • Where relevant, support assessment processes required for the concept notes/proposal. This might involve travel to potential project sites to collect information for proposals.

  • Coordinate with the MEAL team regularly to apply learning, emerging innovations, and evidence-based best practices of WVI Nepal to new project proposals/concept notes.

  • Support Grants Acquisition team and NLab team in preparing partner/competitor analysis, potential donor mapping, preparing Go/No Go information for the potential funding opportunities.

  • Support for effective External Engagement with partners, donors and government

  • Work with technical staff, MEAL, communications and operations team for preparing communication materials to support (pre)positioning with donors and partners, including capacity statements and other materials for donor pack;

  • Provide administrative support to program team

  • Support Grants Acquisition Manager and PDQ Director to prepare the donor pack materials.

  • Monitor, track and document activities to report on progress and share results, best practice and learnings to internal and external stakeholders.

  • Coordinate among the Unit heads within PDQ team to prepare monthly management report.

  • Support with scheduling and preparing for meetings, including diary and room booking, vehicle requests, gathering documentation and materials

  • Logistics arrangement for meetings, training and workshops including coordination with team to agree common dates

  • Attend key meetings to take minutes; distribute and follow up on agreed actions with meeting participants.

  • Provide translation support when required

KNOWLEDGE/QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE

Required Education, training, license, registration and certification


  • Bachelor's degree in any development themes such as Development Studies, Public Health, Education, Agriculture, or on project planning and management. Other fields will be considered as well.


Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications


  • Coordination skills - ability to work and facilitate work across teams

  • Strong interpersonal and marketing skills.

  • Proficient in marketing research and statistical analysis

  • Proven willingness to learn about new and evolving technology.
