Job summary

Goodwill Industries of the Coastal Empire, Inc. in Georgia seeks a dedicated Service Worker to lead custodial crews and ensure contract compliance. You will supervise daily tasks, train staff, and guarantee safety and cleanliness across sites.

The role requires 1–3 years of custodial experience, a Class C license, and strong communication skills. Flexibility for nights, weekends, and holidays is needed, with opportunities for overtime and on-site support from case managers.

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of custodial experience or related work to perform essential functions.
  • Must be 21+ years old with a Class C Driver's License.
  • Strong reading, writing and arithmetic, with clear written and spoken communication.
  • Able to use computers and mobile devices as part of daily tasks.
  • Able to meet security clearances and work with diverse teams.
  • Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Lead custodial crews to complete tasks per contract requirements.
  • Train custodians on tasks, safety, and time management.
  • Ensure crews have equipment, supplies, and knowledge before shifts.
  • Document work completion and variances using computer systems.
  • Improve techniques through hands-on coaching and feedback.
  • Coordinate with supervisors, project management, and case managers.
  • Complete daily paperwork and shift operation reports (time/attendance, logs, inspections).
  • Monitor usage of supplies and equipment and communicate needs to management.
  • Maintain a safe work environment by following safety procedures.

Your Typical Day:
  • Leading custodial crews to complete assigned tasks in conformance with contract requirements.
  • Communicating and training Custodians on tasks while ensuring that work is completed in the time allotted, using safe practices, and within contract specifications.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all Custodians have the equipment, supplies, and knowledge of how to use each prior to the start of each shift.
  • Document the timely completion of work and any discrepancies versus standards using computer technology.
  • Continuously works with Custodians to increase effectiveness and improve custodial techniques by providing hands on training and support.
  • Works with shift supervisors, project management, and case managers to develop performance feedback that will assist in the growth of Custodians.
  • Completes requested daily paperwork and reports needed to ensure shift operations are operating effectively, such as time & attendance functions, maintenance logs, vehicle inspections, issuance of uniforms, and more.
  • Monitors supply & equipment usage; communicates to management, as appropriate, the effectiveness of those materials and needs for additional products or reordering.
  • Assist employees in maintaining a safe working environment by following safety procedures.
  • Accomplishes organization mission by completing related assignments as needed.
Your Qualifications:
  • 1-3 years previous custodial experience or any job-related experience that will provide the necessary knowledge, skill, and abilities to be able to perform the essential functions of the position.
  • Must be 21 years of age and Class C Driver's License
  • Proficiency in reading, writing and basic arithmetic (add, subtract, divide and multiply).Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Must be able to utilize technology as required, including computers and phone/tablet application
  • Must be able to meet all required security clearances.
  • Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to manage workload and prioritize tasks independently
  • Ability to handle and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including frequently lifting and moving merchandise up to 50 lbs and pushing/pulling up to 100 lbs, with or without accommodations.
  • Flexible work schedule (e.g., nights, weekends and holidays) and regular attendance necessary
