Job summary

The Child Center of NY is seeking a Program Coordinator to develop policy and procedures for the program, assign work, monitor productivity and manage program costs within budget. The role partners with counselors to design internship opportunities and maintains critical paperwork.

Hours are Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM with occasional evenings for events; the position involves supervising internship planning and collaborating with DOE and site staff. Generous benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Social Work or related field preferred.
• Bilingual in Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese, Bengali or others as needed.
• 2 years running a school-based program.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to plan and carry out assignments independently.
• Ability to prioritize, adhere to timelines and multi-task.

Responsibilities

• Ensures staff are recruited and trained to meet program requirements.
• Ensures program productivity goals are met efficiently and effectively.
• Collaborates with primary counselors to identify students’ career interests and internship placements.
• Maintains paperwork for internship placements.
• Plans and executes career panels, fairs and workshops with other counselors.
• Provides guidance to employers on internships and supports students during internships.
