About the Role
Travelers Aid is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Program Coordinator to lead recruitment, training, and retention efforts for our volunteer-based airport guest experience program at Philadelphia International Airport (PHL). This individual will manage all aspects of volunteer onboarding, skill development, and engagement—building a diverse and empowered volunteer community that enhances the traveler experience.
The ideal candidate is a proactive communicator, highly organized, and passionate about volunteerism and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement recruitment campaigns via social media, community outreach, job fairs, and partnerships.
- Cultivate relationships with schools, universities, community groups, and corporate partners.
- Represent Travelers Aid at public events to promote the volunteer program.
- Design and deliver comprehensive training programs including orientation, safety protocols, and customer service standards.
- Lead engaging training sessions and organize periodic refresher workshops.
- Establish retention strategies such as recognition programs, milestone awards, and consistent feedback.
- Monitor performance and satisfaction, addressing concerns and recommending improvements.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive environment to keep volunteers engaged.
Administrative Support
- Maintain accurate volunteer data, including hours, training completion, and feedback.
- Support budget planning for recruitment, training, and recognition initiatives.
- Ensure all activities comply with PHL regulations and best practices in volunteer management.
- Coordinate with airport departments to align volunteer services with operational needs.
- Partner with internal teams to ensure volunteer satisfaction.
- Stay current on trends and attend professional development opportunities to enhance program quality.
Who You Are
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on empathy and clarity.
- Collaborative, solution-oriented, and comfortable in fast-paced environments.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
