Job summary

Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, WA seeks a Program Coordinator/Scheduler to manage scheduling across post-surgery procedures, pre-admission testing, and anesthesia coordination. The role acts as liaison among patients, physicians, and outside agencies to ensure timely care.

Responsibilities include triaging medical information, entering appointments, coordinating transfers, and handling pre-operative workups.

  • AND two years of experience in the program specialty.
  • OR equivalent education/experience.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Triage medical information in a specific medical or surgical specialty
  • Schedule post-surgery diagnostic procedures and follow-up patient appointments
  • Act as a liaison between patients, consulting physician, referring physician, or outside agency to coordinate patient appointments, admission, or surgery. Will coordinate the exchange of information either written or verbally before and after patients are seen
  • Coordinate anesthesia
  • Obtain all necessary medical records, diagnostic studies, pathology items, etc., that are needed for patient care
  • Assist in scheduling new patient appointments by triaging to appropriate department and physician
  • Enter appointment information in online appointment system
  • Coordinate pre-admission tests and procedures
  • Schedule and ensure pre-anesthesia works-ups are completed
  • Coordinate the direct transfer of patients from outside hospitals to UWMC with physicians, medical staff, and Admitting

  • High school graduation or equivalent
  • AND two years of experience in the program specialty
  • OR equivalent education/experience
  • Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration.
