Reporting to the Program Manager on the International Development team, the Program Coordinator (PC) provides comprehensive and high-level writing, research, data analysis, event planning, and project coordination support to frontline gift officers on the International Development Team to advance their mission to cultivate, solicit, and steward international donors and prospects. As a valued partner to the team’s development officers, the PC develops and enhances materials for donors that are accurate, compelling, and appreciative. The PC also works with gift officers to prepare briefing materials for Yale leaders in advance of their meetings with donors and prospects.
The PC drafts a wide variety of written materials, including comprehensive individual donor briefings, gift proposals, stewardship reports, gift agreements, and internal and external correspondence that conforms to the style and voice of the sender. Additionally, the PC coordinates with development colleagues and other offices campus-wide to develop or enhance proposals and briefings summarizing Yale activities worldwide and conducts research on individuals, corporations, foundations, governments and institutions using office files, databases, and internet search engines and resources, including sources in other languages relevant for international development.
The PC also provides high level support in data analysis, events, and internal administration. The PC designs, develops, and produces ad hoc reports and analyses by report generation and manipulation of information systems, including our primary alumni database. The PC also assists with arranging campus visits for international donors and prospects and coordinating and assisting with a range of event logistics, e.g., compiling and maintaining invitation lists, extending invitations, confirming attendance, ensuring attendance accuracy, preparing biographies for guest speakers, staffing selected events, and contacting vendors.
Other duties include ensuring the accuracy of gift acknowledgments and all information relayed to prospects; building strong relationships with staff and serves as a key contact on questions relating to various departmental needs; entering data into to the development database and ensuring accuracy of donor records; interacting with donors at the request of the Director and International Development officers in response to inquiries; and assisting with other administrative duties as assigned.
