Job summary

University of Kentucky seeks a Living-Learning Program Coordinator to develop and implement Living-Learning Programs within the Office of Residence Life. The role oversees LLP Peer Mentors and drives co-curricular experiences, recruitment, and placement processes.

The position partners with Residence Life, academic units, and enrollment-management to build residential learning communities that foster belonging, engagement, and student success across campus.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of student development, residential education, living-learning communities, peer education, student engagement, college transition, or related area.
  • Experience planning and coordinating programs, events, educational initiatives, or student-engagement experiences.
  • Experience supervising, coaching, training, advising, or supporting students or student employees.
  • Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Strong organizational and project-management abilities, including managing multiple priorities, deadlines, and operational details.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with sound judgment, initiative, reliability, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate respectfully and work effectively with a broad range of students, families, faculty, staff, and University partners.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 or comparable productivity tools.

Job Summary

The Living-Learning Program Coordinator supports the development and implementation of selected Living-Learning Programs within the Office of Residence Life. The coordinator supervises LLP Peer Mentors; plans, implements, and assesses co-curricular learning experiences; supports student recruitment, application, selection, and placement processes; and contributes to program assessment and continuous improvement.

Working collaboratively with Residence Life colleagues, academic partners, enrollment-management offices, and other campus stakeholders, the coordinator helps create residential learning communities that foster belonging, learning, student engagement, retention, and satisfaction. The position primarily supports centralized LLPs, which may include Audre Lorde, CI Connect, International Village, and the Transfer Year Experience. Program assignments may evolve based on departmental priorities and student needs.

Student Success will, from the time of early college outreach to graduation and beyond, support students in living a life of meaning and purpose. From a student-centered framework, our practice will be grounded in peer-reviewed literature, national best practices, and data-informed decision making. Collaborating with the campus and community, Student Success will work through a holistic lens to support a community of learners in achieving success.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

Familiarity with StarRez or another housing-management system.

Familiarity with BBNvolved, Tableau, Qualtrics, Maxient, or comparable student-engagement, assessment, or case-management systems.
