Job summary

The University of Kentucky is seeking a Program Coordinator II to support Agricultural Education & Advocacy within the Martin-Gatton College. This role blends teaching, student mentoring, leadership development, and outreach to help students grow professionally and personally, preparing for careers in agriculture and education.

The successful candidate will advise student organizations, coordinate professional development initiatives, and represent the program at recruitment and engagement

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree is required.
  • Minimum 3 years of related experience.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Teach Agricultural Education & Advocacy courses and support student learning and success.
  • Advise and mentor student organizations with leadership development and strategic guidance.
  • Develop and coordinate professional development programs to strengthen career readiness and industry engagement.
  • Plan and facilitate networking, mentoring, and student engagement opportunities.
  • Represent the program at recruitment and outreach events, including state, regional, and national FFA activities.
  • Support recruitment initiatives and collaborate with university and college partners to promote enrollment.
  • Coordinate Agricultural Education & Advocacy Field Day activities, including logistics and stakeholder engagement.

The successful candidate will serve as a trusted advisor to student organizations, coordinate professional development initiatives, and represent the program at recruitment and engagement events across the state and beyond.
What You’ll Do

Preferred Education / Experience

Previous experience working with undergraduates in Agricultural Education required. Strong background in hands‑on agricultural sciences, teaching methods, and youth development preferred. Experience with clinical/student teaching supervision, university extension coordination, instructional lab support, or advising undergraduate student organizations (e.g., collegiate FFA ) is highly desirable.

Driver’s license preferred.
