Position Information We are seeking a Program Coordinator II, who under general supervision, works collaboratively with departmental leadership to implement academic programs and manage marketing and communication needs.
45% Marketing and Communications:
- Science communications.
- Assist with web design for department programs and research labs.
- Social media support for department.
- Oversee the design, content, and distribution of departmental communications.
- Marketing and promotion of department programs.
- Design branded items.
- Assist with departmental events such as seminars, symposiums, and social gatherings.
- Assist faculty with Canvas.
- Train faculty to give interviews and digest their science for the public.
- Train the Program Coordinator I.
50% Academic Program Coordination:
- Support the undergraduate and graduate Program Manager.
- Assist with program assessments and program reviews.
- Assist with course scheduling.
- Assist with student outreach recruitment for undergraduate and graduate programs, as well as for Didactic Program and Dietetics (DPD) and Masters in Clinical Nutrition (MCN). Outreach events can be local or out of state.
- Data collection and tracking for various program platforms and internal applications.
- Schedule travel and assist with logistics for graduate seminars.
- Host seminar speakers.
- Coordinate the summer undergraduate research program.
- Identify of funding opportunities and assist with data and preparation for training grants.
- Assist with career and professional development for undergraduate and graduate students.
- Coordinate Nutrition’s Career Club.
5% Other duties as required.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience plus an additional four (4) years of related experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in science communication.
- 3-5 years of related experience in program coordination and/or marketing and science communications.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
- Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Website design and management.
- Social media management skills.
