JOB SUMMARY:
The Programs Coordinator will work collaboratively within the program’s team to provide trauma-informed, therapeutic-based services to youth and young adults in the community who are at-risk, vulnerable, or victims of CSEC (commercial sexual exploitation of children). This role involves direct service facilitation, coordinating logistics and communication with community partners, and supporting the delivery of trauma-informed care to youth across the state. The ideal candidate is passionate about youth empowerment, detail-oriented, and able to build and maintain strong community relationships.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Group Facilitation
- Facilitates and/or co-facilitates weekly trauma-informed therapeutic groups for youth from diverse backgrounds, including those impacted by or at risk of trafficking, exploitation, abuse, homelessness, or neglect, across various facilities and community-based settings.
- Deliver empowerment and resilience-based curricula to groups of up to 20 participants using trauma-informed and culturally grounded approaches.
- Supports youth engagement through activities that foster self-reflection, connection, and emotional regulation.
- Build relationships with community partners and maintain ongoing communication for program scheduling and coordination.
- Support youth engagement and create a safe, healing-centered group environment.
- Maintain consistent, ethical, and timely documentation of all group sessions in alignment with organizational standards and confidentiality protocols.
- Represent Ho‘ola Nā Pua at outreach events, presentations, and community engagements to raise awareness and build partnerships.
Mentoring Program Support
- Assist in outreach, recruitment, and engagement of mentors, mentees, caregivers, and facility partners.
- Communicate regularly with mentors, mentees, caregivers, and site partners to support healthy, consistent engagement.
- Assist with mentor recruitment, screening, onboarding, and training as needed.
- Maintain the mentoring program database, ensuring accurate and up-to-date documentation of match status, interactions, and progress.
- Ensure program protocols and confidentiality standards are maintained.
- Supervision of new mentor/mentee matches.
Logistics & Communication
- Schedule sessions, coordinate with facilities, and ensure adequate resources and staff coverage.
- Maintain open communication with internal teams and external partners.
- Support orientations, intakes, trainings, and family meetings as needed.
Evaluation & Metrics
- Implements data-gathering methods to collect and compile both quantitative and qualitative data related to youth services and program performance.
- Inputs data and metrics on a daily, monthly, quarterly, and/or annual basis.
- Collaborates with the team to identify trends, assess outcomes, and inform program improvements. Program Coordinator may perform other related duties to meet the ongoing needs of the direct service programs.
Other duties may include (but are not limited to) the following:
- Assists Director(s) in developing and revising the direct services programs.
- Works with Director(s) in preparing periodic reports, financial statements and records on program activities, progress, status or other special reports for management or outside agencies.
- Review applications or other program documents independently or with the manager to determine acceptance or make decisions about the program.
- May participate in grant research and/or writing process.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, education, or related fieldORequivalent experience.
- At least one year of experience working with high-risk, system-involved, or vulnerable youth.
- Strong organizational skills, and ability to multitask.
- Excellent communication, planning, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to travel to community-based sites across Oʻahu, and possibly Kauai.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Professionalism, reliability, and integrity.
Preferred:
- Experience facilitating groups with youth, or implementing curricula.
- Experience working with youth affected by commercial sexual exploitation, trafficking, or exploitation.
- Familiarity with trauma-informed frameworks.
- Case Management experience
- Knowledge of juvenile justice, foster care, or behavioral health systems.
- Understanding of culturally responsive service delivery.

- Sit for extended periods
- Stand and walk, including during outreach events and group facilitation

- Demonstrate manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination
- Use near and mid-range vision for reading and computer tasks
- Push, pull, lift, and carry items weighing between 25–50 pounds
- Regularly view a desktop computer monitor and use a computer keyboard
COMMUNICATION DEMANDS:

EQUIPMENT NEEDS:
- Operates basic office equipment including and not limited to the use of: computer, copier, printer, telephone system, and iPad.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work will be indoors and occasionally outdoors. Attendance at virtual or in-person trainings and travel within the Hawaiian Islands and the continental United States may be required.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Able to meet basic standards of physical, mental health, and communication demands specified by State and/or professional accreditation standards applicable to this agency. An initial criminal background check is required.
