Salary Range: $49,400.00 To $55,300.00 Annually

Primary Purpose:

Develop and coordinate culturally grounded, healing-centered wellness supports that strengthen the readiness, resilience, and well-being of ʻōpio. Build accessible wellness resources, learning opportunities, partnerships, and referral pathways while collaborating with the Kīʻapu land-preparation team, Navigators, and other youth programs across ʻUpena Pili.

Wellness Support Development and Coordination

  • Develop and coordinate a holistic wellness approach aligned with the ʻUpena Pili North Star, ancestral wayfinding model, grant requirements, and organizational priorities;
  • Organize wellness resources and supports that address emotional, mental, physical, relational, and behavioral well-being and other factors that affect the ability of ʻōpio to participate and progress;
  • Build and maintain relationships with behavioral health providers, health and wellness organizations, substance-use prevention and recovery resources, family-support agencies, and other community partners;
  • Develop clear resource, referral, eligibility, consent, information-sharing, and follow-up processes that help staff connect ʻōpio to appropriate supports;
  • Identify program-level gaps and barriers to wellness services and recommend practical strategies to improve access, responsiveness, and continuity of support.

Wellness Learning and Experiences

  • Plan and facilitate workshops, seminars, groups, and experiences that build practical wellness knowledge and skills, including self-awareness, stress management, emotional regulation, healthy relationships, help-seeking, self-advocacy, and healthy decision-making;
  • Use culturally grounded, trauma-informed, healing-centered, strengths-based, and developmentally appropriate approaches that honor the identity, voice, pace, and lived experiences of ʻōpio;
  • Create welcoming learning environments where ʻōpio can participate safely, build connection, practice skills, and reflect on how wellness supports their goals and individualized journeys;
  • Coordinate qualified providers, guest facilitators, community resources, schedules, materials, safety considerations, and follow-up for assigned wellness offerings;
  • Develop practical wellness resources and tools that Navigators and other staff can appropriately reinforce with ʻōpio.

Land Preparation and Cross-Program Collaboration

  • Work closely with Navigators to understand wellness-related needs and connect ʻōpio with relevant resources and opportunities without replacing the Navigator's primary mentoring relationship;
  • Support warm handoffs and coordinated follow-up when specialized wellness services are needed while maintaining appropriate role boundaries and confidentiality;
  • Collaborate with Kīʻapu staff responsible for pathways, cultural learning, data, and events so offerings are accessible, coordinated, and responsive to the whole person;
  • Coordinate with other youth programs under ʻUpena Pili to share wellness resources, strengthen referral networks, reduce duplication, and expand access to appropriate supports;
  • Participate in Kīʻapu and cross-program planning, youth conferencing, and coordinated problem-solving when wellness expertise or resource coordination is needed.

Safety, Ethics, and Scope of Practice

  • Recognize and respond appropriately to concerns involving safety, abuse, neglect, self-harm, substance use, or other urgent needs by following PIDF policies, mandated-reporting requirements, and established response protocols;
  • Maintain professional boundaries and provide only those services that fall within the position's training, qualifications, and scope;
  • Protect participant privacy and obtain appropriate consent before sharing information, consistent with law, policy, partner agreements, and the safety of ʻōpio.

Documentation and Continuous Improvement

  • Maintain accurate and timely records of wellness offerings, participation, referrals, partner involvement, follow-up, feedback, and other assigned outcomes in PIDF systems;
  • Gather feedback from ʻōpio, Navigators, staff, families, providers, and partners to assess accessibility, relevance, safety, cultural responsiveness, and quality;
  • Use data, reflection, and partner guidance to improve wellness supports and recommend responsive adjustments;
  • Contribute information for reports, dashboards, evaluation, grant compliance, and program planning while safeguarding confidential information.

Other Duties:

  • Support ʻUpena Pili and Kīʻapu events, trainings, outreach, and community activities;
  • Maintain current knowledge of wellness resources, ethical practices, mandated-reporting responsibilities, and relevant professional development;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Work Hours:

  • Generally 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, or as otherwise determined by management;
  • Flexibility to adjust schedules for ʻōpio, family, provider, partner, event, evening, or occasional weekend needs is required;
  • Position requires regular and predictable attendance.

Working Conditions:
