Program Coordinator

The College of Population Health (COPH) seeks an organized, detail-oriented individual to join our education team to coordinate the day-to‑to‑day administrative education activities of our growing undergraduate and graduate programs. COPH at the University of New Mexico’s Health Sciences Center serves communities, government and non‑profit agencies, businesses and health‑related organizations with deep connections to Native, Latino/Hispanic and African American communities, aiming to improve health equity for low‑income and under‑represented populations. COPH offers the Bachelor of Science in Population Health (BSPH), the Master of Public Health (MPH) and the PhD in Health Equity Sciences, as well as several minor degrees. BSPH bridges health‑care systems, finance, policy, and law with an emphasis on prevention and wellness. MPH promotes an interdisciplinary approach to research and interventions, fostering critical thinking across social, biomedical, and clinical disciplines and is accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health. The PhD in Health Equity Sciences integrates key public health, population health, and social science components, preparing scholars for positions throughout government, non‑profit, health‑care, and academic settings.

Responsibilities
  • Provides education support for face‑to‑face and online courses.
  • Serves as central point of contact for day‑to‑day operations, administrative matters, meetings, and special projects.
  • Works with and assists programs in the admissions process.
  • Assists in the preparation and delivery of workshops, orientation, and convocation sessions.
  • Creates and edits course schedules, catalogs, marketing materials, student handbooks, correspondence, and emails.
  • Performs miscellaneous job duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED; at least five years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution may substitute experience on a year‑for‑year basis.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments.
  • Ability to coordinate and organize meetings and/or special events.
  • Clerical, word‑processing, and/or office skills.
  • Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications.
  • Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work effectively with diverse constituencies.
  • Records‑maintenance skills.
  • Ability to interact with students, faculty, and/or staff in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control procedures.
  • Ability to gather and analyze statistical data and generate reports.
  • Advanced writing and editorial skills.
