Description

The Kentucky Education and Labor Cabinet advances education, workforce development, and economic opportunity across the Commonwealth. The Cabinet provides education and training programs, employment and reemployment services, unemployment insurance, and disability determination services to help Kentuckians gain skills, find work, and maintain economic stability. It partners with education providers, workforce boards, and employers to align training with labor market needs and oversees labor programs that promote fair and safe workplaces.


The Office of Vocational Rehabilitation empowers individuals with disabilities to maximize employment, achieve economic self-sufficiency and independence, and to contribute back to society. We also help businesses and employers recruit, retain, and accommodate employees with disabilities.


We are seeking a Program Coordinator to coordinate activities of stakeholders engaged in implementation and administration of program objectives. Collaborate with program participants and stakeholders on planning, implementing, and monitoring of provision of program services; and perform other duties as required.


Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To The Following


  • Coordinates the statewide Kentucky Assistive Technology Loan Corporation KATLC) Program, assisting consumers with loan applications, reviewing applications and documentation, coordinating activities, and serving as liaison to lending partners and stakeholders. Supports the Appalachian Assistive Technology Loan Fund by assisting with mini-loan applications and documentation.

  • Provides administrative and programmatic support for federally mandated KATLC activities, including coordinating quarterly board and committee meetings, supporting strategic planning activities, maintaining required documentation, conducting public hearings, and assisting with compliance-related activities.

  • Manages statewide Financial Empowerment initiatives by developing and maintaining an assistive technology resource & funding guide on the KATS Network website, identifying & promoting financial literacy resources, serving as a STABLE Account ambassador, providing outreach & presentations to staff, consumers, families, & service providers, and identifying financial counseling & education resources.

  • Identify and develop additional state financing activities for the KATS Network in conjunction with KATS Network assistive technology resource centers, including identifying and developing grant proposals, identifying and developing partnerships, and identifying and developing programs that provide assistive technology to individuals with disabilities at reduced or no cost.

  • Develops and distributes program outreach and educational materials, coordinates exhibits and presentations, communicates program updates to vendors and stakeholders, and promotes awareness of vocational rehabilitation programs and services statewide.

  • Represents the agency at meetings, conferences, trainings, and collaborative activities with governmental agencies, community organizations, advocacy groups, service providers, and other stakeholders to support program development and employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities.

  • Performs other duties as required.

Minimum Requirements

EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.


EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Three years of professional experience in management or administration.


Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: A master's degree will substitute for one year of the required experience.


Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Administrative or business experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Working Conditions

Incumbents working in this job title primarily perform duties in an office setting. Minimal travel may be required.


Probationary Period
