Job summary

North Suffolk Community Services Inc is seeking a part-time Program Coordinator to support the Recovery Learning Center at the Hope Center. You will supervise Peer Facilitators, participate in hiring and evaluation, and promote recovery-centered practices within the MB RLC network.

The role emphasizes leadership in psychiatric rehabilitation, collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, and engagement in advisory groups, with hours Tue–Thu 9am–4pm and Friday optional.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in a social sciences related program preferred.
  • Experience with adults who identify as having a mental health and/or substance use disorder or similar human-services needs.
  • At least one year of supervisory experience, preferably in the human services field.
  • Current or former recipient of mental health services who is in recovery.
  • Strong critical thinking abilities and experience with technology and document management, and interpersonal communications.

Responsibilities

  • Provides guidance and supervision to Peer Facilitators at the Hope Center regarding their role as group facilitators and one-on-one peer supporters.
  • Participates and makes recommendations in recruitment, hiring, and evaluation of Peer Facilitators according to policies and procedures under the Director.
  • Provides Leadership in promoting the effectiveness of psychiatric rehabilitation with colleagues and the service delivery system.
  • Participates in MB RLC Leadership meetings and Advisory membership, including monthly leadership meetings and quarterly family and member advisory groups.
  • Participates in monthly Environment of Care (EOC) meetings to represent the Hope Center.
  • All other duties as assigned by the Director of Recovery.

Salary Range: $29.61 To $35.36 Hourly

North Suffolk is looking for a Program Coordinator to join our team! The Program Coordinator is for the Recovery Learning Center (RLC) community at the Hope Center for North Suffolk and the wider Metro Boston Recovery Learning Community (MBRLC). This position is designated for a person who is or has been a recipient of services for mental health and/or substance abuse disorders. The Program Coordinator reports to the Director of Recovery and supports the team where needed, and is a contributing team member of the larger peer support specialist network at North Suffolk. This position provides direct supervisory support to Hope Center employees to ensure a peer-centered culture that promotes recovery, self-determination and community inclusion for all members.

This position is part-time 20 hours per week; Tuesday - Thursday 9am-4pm, Friday optional.

What you'll do:

What you'll need:
  • Education:
    • High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in a social sciences related program preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Has work experience with adults who identify as having a mental health and/or substance use disorder or with individuals with similar human-services needs.
    • Has at least one year of supervisory experience, preferably in the human services field.
    • This individual should be a current or former recipient of mental health services who is in recovery.
    • Strong critical thinking abilities and experience with technology and document management, and interpersonal communications.
  • Skills:
    • CPR/1st Aid Certification within three months of hire (training provided).
    • Peer Specialist Certification in Massachusetts.
