The Salvation Army North & Central Illinois Division Program Cook role is to plan, prepare, and serve meals for Salvation Army programs while maintaining a safe and clean kitchen. You will also manage the budget for assigned areas and ensure the Mission is carried out effectively.
Responsibilities include setting monthly menus, receiving deliveries, training volunteers, and maintaining food safety standards. Some local travel and weekend work may be required.

Salary Range Starting At: $15.00/ per hour
As the Program Cook you will plan, prepare, and serve meals for Salvation Army programs while maintaining a safe and clean environment. Maintain the budget for assigned areas while ensuring that the Mission of The Salvation Army is effectively carried out.
Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent (Preferred).
Background Checks: Position requires a background check to be completed, and all background check results will be reviewed.
Experience: Kitchen Experience (Preferred).
Certifications: Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain The Salvation Army Driver’s qualification standard; must complete Safe From Harm training within the first 30 days of employment. ServSafe Food handler within 30 days of employment, and successful completion of ServSafe Managers course within 90 days of employment.

Work is performed in a Kitchen and/or office environment; working conditions may include occasional exposure to chemicals and dust. Standard safety precautions needed. May require some weekend and evening work.
