Job summary

The Salvation Army Lied Kitchen in North Las Vegas is seeking an experienced line cook to join our kitchen team and help prepare meals to meet daily service needs. Qualified candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent, at least two years of line cook experience, and the ability to work varied hours including weekends and holidays.

A Food Handler's Permit and successful background check are required.

Qualifications

  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Two years of experience as a line cook or equivalent formal training.
  • Ability to work varying hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Posses or be willing to obtain a Food Handlers Permit.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the standards set by the Executive Chef.
  • Confer with the Executive Chef regarding the methods, quantities and procedures used in the preparation of food items.
  • Maintain production schedules to ensure both timely service and quality of product.
  • Observe and implement all approved sanitation practices.
  • Oversee that deliveries from purveyors coincide with the purchase order.
  • Report any unsafe or unsanitary conditions in the kitchen or dining room.
  • Provide coverage and supervision of clients in the absences of the Dining Facility Manager
  • Provide the Executive Chef with input regarding clients work therapy assignment evaluations.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Executive Chef
