Job summary

The James B. McClatchy Foundation is seeking a Program Associate to support its grantmaking, programs, initiatives, and community engagement in California’s Central Valley. This role focuses on delivering impact through collaborative work with staff, grantees, and volunteers.

You will assist with program administration, reporting, and data management, helping the foundation advance its mission with equity, inclusion, and accountability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college.
• Strong project management and writing skills.
• Excellent verbal communication and collaboration abilities.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Experience with data interpretation and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Support the program team in grantmaking, programs, initiatives, and community engagement.
• Coordinate with staff, grantee partners, and volunteers to maximize impact.
• Assist in collecting reports and preparing progress summaries.
• Maintain and use online grants management systems and CRM platforms.
• Help organize site visits and learning convenings.
