Program Associate

Description

Position: Program Associate

Hours of Employment: 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM | Monday-Thursday, or 9:30 AM – 6:00 PM | Monday-Thursday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM Fridays (non-school days). Occasional weekday evenings and weekends may be required.

Work Location: In-Person

Salary Range: $20.00-$24.00/hour, based on experience and qualifications

Immediate Supervisor: Program Manager

Employment Type: Full-time, non-exempt

Position Overview: Responsible for implementing all student-based programming within the community school model. Work directly with youth to support their social, emotional, cognitive, and academic development. Strive for excellence in program facilitation and help students develop their personalities and life skills.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  1. Implement in-school and after-school programs, projects, and events
  2. Tutor and/or mentor students
  3. Facilitate enrichment activities using effective instructional techniques
  4. Create and maintain safe, respectful, and encouraging learning environments
  5. Ensure availability of materials and supplies for all programs
  6. Participate in daily team debriefs
  7. Complete feedback and observation notes thoughtfully
  8. Assist in collecting, checking, recording, and analyzing related data
  9. Greet, steward, and deploy volunteers and partners
  10. Engage professionally with teachers and families
  11. Maintain cleanliness and organization of spaces
  12. Coordinate/manage programs, projects, and events with senior leaders
  13. Provide administrative support for NCCP programs, projects, and events
  14. Support all community school activities as needed

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  1. Reliable transportation and consistent attendance
  2. Valid driver’s license
  3. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a high-energy environment
  4. Ability to move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
  5. Ability to remain in stationary or mobile positions as required

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  1. Two-year or four-year college degree
  2. Bilingual Spanish/English skills
  3. Experience working with children in an academic environment
  4. Experience in classroom management and instructional skills
  5. Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  6. Strong organizational and administrative skills
  7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office
