Job summary

The Gathering Place (Brattleboro Area Adult Day Services) in Brattleboro, VT, is seeking 2 Program Assistants for full-time, rotating 4-day weeks, about 36 hours per week, with shift 7:30am–5:00pm, Monday through Friday. No weekends.

Participants are adults with various abilities who enjoy activities and social engagement. Responsibilities include personal care assistance, medication distribution, vital signs, meal service, activity support, and teamwork with staff.

• Ability to observe glucometer use and document vitals.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care assistance, toileting, and help with daily living activities.

2 x Program Assistants - full-time 4 days per week 7:30am to 5:00pm. 36 hours per weekSchedule rotates 4 full days per week scheduled between Monday and Friday. No weekends.
The Gathering Place (Brattleboro Area Adult Day Services), is an Adult Day program serving Windham County Vermont. We serve adults with a wide range of physical and cognitive abilities. Our participants enjoy music, arts, games, exercise and companionship - just to name a few!

The Program Assistant is responsible for

• -Personal care assistance - toileting, showering, and other activities of daily living


• -Medication distribution. Observe glucometer use


• -Take and document vital signs


• -Assists with meal and snack service (plating, serving, etc.)


• -Helps participants with activities


• -Helps participants with exercise


• -Participate with co-workers with shared tasks: laundry, clean up, putting supplies away, etc.


• -Must work well as part of a team and be reliable.


• Schedule — Rotating 4-day per week schedule days 7:30AM-5PM approximately 36 hours per week. No weekends or evenings; we are closed major holidays. Additional days/hours may be available.


• Expected pay range: $18-$20+ per hour


• Eligible for paid time off benefits, dental, vision, life, LTD and AD&D coverage at no cost (employee only). We are unable to offer health insurance. 403(b) match after one year.


• References required and verification of past employment history.


• Experience in activity coordination, personal care assistance, or working with elderly/adults with disabilities preferred.


• Ability to engage and motivate participants in various activities.


• Understanding of physical and cognitive needs of older adults.


• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.


• Organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.


• Compassionate and patient demeanor.


• Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
