Job summary

The Gathering Place in Brattleboro, VT is seeking an Activity Assistant for the part-time shift (10:00am to 3:00pm) on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. The role focuses on leading activities, assisting meals, and maintaining clean service areas for elders and adults with disabilities.

No experience is required; paid training will be provided. Reliability, teamwork, kindness, and a willingness to learn are essential. References and past employment history verification are required.

Qualifications

• Entry-level candidates welcomed.
• No experience necessary; paid training provided for the right candidate.
• Most important qualifications are to be reliable and consistent, work well with our team, treat participants with kindness, be able to learn the duties of the position and to not be afraid to get a little silly when needed!
• As an Activity Assistant, you will be responsible for leading and assisting with planned activities, meals, assisting with keeping service areas clean and helping co-workers.
• Schedule: 15hours per week, 3 days, (Monday, Wednesday & Thursday) 10am to 3pm. No weekends or evenings; we are closed major holidays.
• Rate of pay: $16-$17/hour depending on experience
• References required and verification of past employment history.

Responsibilities

• Leading and assisting with planned activities and meals.

• Set up and cleanup of activity areas.
• Encouraging participation in activities, including games, crafts, and exercise routines.
• Assisting with meal service, laundry and keeping service areas clean.
