The Arc Gateway Inc in Pensacola, FL seeks compassionate direct care staff to support seniors with intellectual and developmental disabilities in daily activities and community engagement. The role emphasizes safety, dignity, and person-centered planning, following an implemented schedule and plans.
Responsibilities include assisting with personal care, mobility, meals, medication oversight, documentation, and collaboration with teammates and volunteers.

Provides direct care and supervision for seniors with intellectual and developmental disabilities, supporting their engagement in meaningful daily activities within their community.
Acts as a role model for the volunteers in the Senior Adult Program.

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information to clients, caregivers and other employees of the organization.
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Ability to follow directions in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to make independent decisions based on agency policy, seek clarification as needed, and notify supervisor of anything out of the ordinary that involves the clients.
The employee is regularly required to talk, hear and see. Physical activities include bending, standing, reaching, sitting, using hands, pushing an individual in wheelchair. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and be able to walk the equivalent of 2 blocks.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Beginning Salary: $15.00 per hour
Status: Non-Exempt
PT Working Hours: 24 hours a week - Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday – 7am – 3pm and as needed on Monday’s and Thursday’s for vacations and call outs.
