Job summary

HAP Enterprises, Inc. in Beaver County, PA seeks a Program Assistant to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in living more independently.

You’ll work alongside Program Specialists and DSPs to keep homes organized and responsive to residents’ needs. This full-time role combines hands-on care with behind-the-scenes coordination, including medication support, health coordination, documentation, and staff orientation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or associate degree in Social or Human Services.
  • At least one year supervising or managing in a group home setting.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle for site visits.
  • Medication Administration Certification or willingness to obtain immediately.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with daily needs across approximately five residential sites.
  • Help ensure individuals receive consistent, thoughtful support.
  • Carry out day-to-day tasks that keep each home running smoothly.
  • Support medication-related tasks, including deliveries and updates.
  • Enter and track medical appointments in our electronic system.
  • Scan and organize documentation after appointments.
  • Assist with medication changes and communication with providers.
  • Help DSPs maintain their medication certification requirements.
  • Track monthly health programs and OTC benefit orders.
  • Check homes regularly to ensure they’re clean, safe, and well-maintained.
  • Coordinate fire drills and review safety documentation.
  • Review grocery receipts and budgets to keep financial records accurate.
  • Ensure required daily and monthly documentation is completed.
  • Help orient new DSPs and support ongoing staff development.
  • Participate in house meetings to coordinate care and discuss needs.
  • Lead health, wellness, and community-based activity planning.
  • Assist staff with questions and escalate concerns when needed.

Job description

Are you looking for a role where your work genuinely makes a difference? As a Program Assistant at HAP, you’ll support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in living more independently and confidently in their communities. This position blends hands‑on support with behind‑the‑scenes coordination to help our residential homes run smoothly and safely.

You’ll work closely with Program Specialists and Direct Support Professionals (DSPs), helping keep each home organized, well‑supported, and ready to meet the needs of the individuals who live there. If you enjoy problem‑solving, staying organized, and being part of a team that truly cares, this role is a great fit.

Compensation & Schedule

HAP offers annual raises, a minimum of $1,500 bonus every year for the last decade, and a $3,000 sign‑on bonus (paid in two parts at 3 and 6 months). After 90 days, you’ll receive free vision, dental, and life insurance, affordable medical coverage, and 401k matching at 5%. Paid sick and vacation time included.

Schedule:

Full‑time, 40 hours/week with a predictable rotating 2‑week cycle:

Core Responsibilities

Job Requirements
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s or associate degree in Social Services, Human Services, or a related field.
  • At least one year of experience supervising or managing in a group home setting.
Travel
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Reliable personal vehicle for site visits, appointments, and errands.
  • All house sites are located in and around Beaver County.
Certifications & Skills
  • Medication Administration Certification (or willingness to obtain immediately).
  • Comfort using electronic documentation systems, especially Therap (training included).
  • Strong organization, flexibility, and attention to detail.
