Job summary

College of Charleston’s School of Engineering, Computing, and Mathematics seeks a Program and Communications Manager to steer internal and external programming, communications, and stakeholder engagement. You will coordinate with Enrollment Management, Alumni Affairs, Faculty, and external partners to advance enrollment and build a vibrant student and alumni community.

  • Develop and oversee marketing materials for diverse audiences (students, parents, schools, corporations).
  • Create engaging content across digital, website, social media, and print platforms.
  • Manage external contractors for specialized marketing needs.
  • Ensure promotional efforts align with the university brand guidelines and mission.
  • Design and manage Industry, Student Ambassador, and Alumni Mentoring programming.
  • Develop School-specific programming for K-12 students, faculty, alumni, and counselors.
  • Create and maintain strategic external relationships with high schools and community organizations.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to create STEM experiences and summer camps.
  • Manage one professional staff member and student employees; lead events and KPI data tracking.

Job Purpose

The School of Engineering, Computing, and Mathematics’ Program and Communications Manager is a high-impact leadership role responsible and accountable for the strategic direction and execution of internal and external programming and communications. Serving as a vital liaison between the School and key stakeholders including Enrollment Management, Alumni Affairs, Faculty, and External Corporate Partners and Contractors. This position supports enrollment and retention efforts through data-driven marketing, builds robust relationships, and fosters a vibrant community for students and alumni.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Required:

  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain external partnerships with corporate and community stakeholders.
  • Strong technical proficiency in data analysis and reporting to drive strategic decision-making.
  • Working knowledge of digital marketing tools and content management systems ( CMS ).

Preferred:

  • Advanced knowledge of digital marketing tools and content management systems ( CMS ).
  • Established professional network within the Charleston/Lowcountry K-12 or corporate landscape.
  • Background in creating and scaling mentorship or immersion programs for students and alumni.
