About AN2 Therapeutics

AN2 Therapeutics (AN2) is a biopharmaceutical company focused on discovering and developing novel small molecule therapeutics derived from its boron chemistry platform. Founded by a team of experienced industry leaders in drug research and development, we strive to provide patients with treatments that will restore their health and enable them to live productive lives. AN2 is a mission-driven company with a passion for improving global public health and a vision to accelerate development of novel medicines to treat serious diseases and save lives worldwide.

AN2 Therapeutics is seeking an experienced Program and Alliance Manager to drive cross-functional execution of drug development programs from preclinical (IND-enabling) activities through IND submission and into Phase 1 clinical trials. This role partners closely with Discovery, Nonclinical/Toxicology, CMC, Regulatory Affairs, and Clinical Development to build and maintain integrated program plans, surface risks early, and keep programs on track to key regulatory and clinical milestones. The Program and Alliance Manager will also serve as a key relationship manager for AN2’s global research partners and collaborators, primarily for research-phase programs, ensuring productive day-to-day collaboration and alignment with internal program strategy. As programs transition into Phase 1, this role is also a key operational partner to the Clinical Development team, helping coordinate study start-up and CRO-related activities alongside the existing clinical oversight structure. This role will report to the Executive Director, Program Leadership & Alliance Management.

Key Responsibilities
Program Management
  • Build and maintain integrated, cross-functional program timelines spanning IND-enabling toxicology, CMC/manufacturing, regulatory submission, and Phase 1 clinical activities.
  • Lead or co-lead cross-functional core team meetings across Discovery, Nonclinical, CMC, Regulatory, Clinical, and Quality; drive agendas, capture decisions, and track action items to closure.
  • Track program budgets, vendor deliverables, and resourcing needs; flag scope, budget, or timeline risks to program and functional leadership.
  • Identify cross-functional risks and dependencies proactively; facilitate mitigation and contingency planning across workstreams.
  • Maintain program dashboards, status reports, and meeting materials for use in portfolio reviews and leadership/board updates.
  • Continuously improve program management tools, templates, and processes appropriate to a growing, resource-conscious organization.
Alliance Management
  • Serve as the primary day-to-day point of contact for AN2’s global research partners and collaborators, primarily on research-phase programs, fostering productive, well-coordinated working relationships.
  • Establish and run alliance governance structures (e.g., joint steering/project committees) — setting cadence, driving agendas, capturing decisions, and tracking follow-up actions across both organizations.
  • Track partner and collaborator deliverables, funding and milestone obligations, and other contractual commitments; flag deviations early and coordinate resolution with program and functional leads.
  • Facilitate clear, timely communication and information flow between AN2 scientific teams and partner organizations, including across different time zones and organizational cultures.
  • Within alliances, identify and proactively elevate risks, misalignments, or conflicts, and support resolution in a way that preserves the partnership.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences or related technical field.
  • 5+ years of project/program management experience in biotech or pharmaceutical drug development, with direct experience spanning preclinical through early clinical (Phase 1) stages.
  • Experience supporting IND-enabling activities and IND submissions.
  • Working knowledge of GLP toxicology studies, CMC/manufacturing timelines, and Phase 1 clinical trial operations.
  • Experience coordinating with external CROs, CDMOs, or other development vendors.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills; comfortable operating across scientific, clinical, regulatory, and business functions.
  • Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing materials for senior leadership.
  • Proficiency with project management and collaboration tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, or equivalent) and standard productivity software.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree (MS, PhD, MBA, or equivalent) in a scientific or business discipline.
  • PMP certification or equivalent formal project management training.
  • Prior experience in a small or growth-stage biotech environment, with a track record of adapting processes as an organization scales.
  • Experience with small-molecule development programs.
  • Familiarity with infectious disease, hematology, or oncology drug development.
  • Experience running joint steering committees or other formal alliance governance structures with academic, biotech, or pharma partners.
  • Experience working with international/multi-regional collaborators and navigating cross-cultural or cross-time-zone working relationships.
