Job summary

The Delaware Office of Inspector General (OIG) seeks an experienced evaluator to lead and conduct complex evaluations and studies across state agencies, collecting and analyzing data, and recommending improvements with substantial autonomy.

Candidates will support investigators, design studies, interpret laws and regulations, and document findings in narrative reports; telework is available under Delaware policy.

Qualifications

• Three years experience in conducting studies or analyses to determine efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance with laws and policies.
• Three years experience in descriptive statistics (mean, median, mode, standard deviation).
• Three years experience in interpreting laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies and procedures.
• Six months experience in designing studies or analyses (goals, data sources, sampling).
• Six months experience in making recommendations for changes based on findings.
• Six months experience in narrative report writing.
• Knowledge of inferential statistics (correlation, t-tests, ANOVA).

Responsibilities

• Directs preparation, administration, and completion of complex evaluations and reviews across state agencies.
• Assesses areas for management improvements and develops recommendations.
• Plans data collection and statistical studies related to agencies and labor markets.
• Supports investigators with research, data collection, and analysis.
• Oversees external services and ensures compliance with laws and policies.
• Participates in budget assessment and policy development within OIG.
