PPP applicants will be placed at the FPL, if determined Well Qualified (WQ). To receive priority consideration, the FPL must be the same grade level or equivalent of the retained grade or the grade held immediately prior to separation.

Conditions of Employment Cont.
1. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret / SCI security clearance. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in removal.
2. Due to the requirement to acquire and maintain a Top-Secret clearance, the incumbent is subject to pre-employment and random drug urinalysis testing while assigned to this position.
3. Overtime, on-call support, and travel (30-90 days annually) may be required in the performance of duties.
4. This position requires satisfactory completion of a pre-employment physical as a condition of employment. Incumbent must therefore meet and maintain requirements specified on OF 178 or equivalent, Certificate of Medical Examination.
5. The incumbent may be required to travel 40% of the time.
6. The employee must be deployable. As situations warrant, employee will be required to perform duties while deployed at sea or remote work locations to support various exercise/operations. Travel in military and/or commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty assignments may be required. Employee
must pass a medical examination and as required, receive immunizations or prophylactic medicine for overseas/deployed locations.
7. This is a Mission Essential Position. A position may be designated as mission essential, consistent with the criteria described in DoD Instruction (DoDI) 3020.42, "Defense Continuity Plan Development," dated February 17, 2006, certified as current as of October 29, 2019, and any other component-unique policies or definitions. Mission essential positions are those that are needed to ensure the continued operation of mission essential functions of an activity. Mission Essential designations are not prescribed by DTM 17-004. This decision is based on the type of work and supporting activities necessary to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations essential to the mission. This may require the incumbent to be subject to recall for emergency overtime, work overtime or uncommon tours of duty based on the needs of the organization as directed. This position is not E-E, or Key.
Physical Demands: Work is primarily sedentary in nature, although slight physical effort may be required. Deployment on warships is expected.
Work Environment: Work is performed in areas that are adequately lighted and climate controlled where normal safety precautions for an office are practiced. The work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts that require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices and meeting rooms. The dynamic work environment with multiple competing priorities and requirements is stressful and requires resiliency.

Priority consideration will be given to military spouse preference and family member preference eligible residing in the commute area of the duty location for this position. Commute area is defined as the geographic area surrounding the duty location in which people can reasonably be expected to travel back and forth daily.
Military Spouses and Family Members may apply 30 days before their anticipated arrival date. However, they will not receive preference until arrival at the foreign location. Additional documentation may be required prior to granting preference.
Military spouses and family members who are appointed may not extend longer than 2 months following the transfer of the sponsor from the commuting area of the foreign duty station; 2 months beyond the separation of the appointee's sponsor; or any time beyond the time employee ceases to be a family member.
