The Police Athletic League (PAL) is seeking a Program Aide to provide holistic support for MAAP, developing systems and resources to keep operations running smoothly. This role also assists with referrals and trip planning for inner-city youth ages 12–21.

Primary duties include petty cash oversight, data entry, chart maintenance, and collaborating with leadership to address emerging issues. The position is part-time in Brooklyn with flexible schedules.

Qualifications

  • Two years of college or an equivalent training.
  • Experience in a youth or social service nonprofit is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Brooklyn/NYC resources and networks.
  • Proficient with online tools and internet research.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsabilités

  • Create systems and protocols to support program functioning.
  • Provide resources and referrals for high-risk youth ages 12-21.
  • Develop resources for recreation, education, employment, etc.
  • Coordinate group trips and manage planning logistics.
  • Manage petty cash and reconciliation paperwork.
  • Data entry and audits of program records.
  • Support staff with document retrieval and chart maintenance.
  • Collaborate with leadership on emergent issues.

Job SummaryThe Program Aide is responsible for holistic support of the Mentoring And Advocacy Program (MAAP). The main areas of support are: Developing and maintaining systems to support optimal program operations, resource/referral development, trip planning, petty cash oversight and database input and oversight. The Program Aide must work closely with leadership and program staff in order to understand emerging program issues and develop plans to address program functioning.Compensation: $25.00 - $28.84 Per HourLocation: 2588 Atlantic Avenue Brooklyn NY, 11207Hours: 15 hours a week 3 hours 5 days a week 10:00AM - 1:00PM or 11AM-2:00PM Monday - Friday. The 2nd option would be 3 days a week at 5 hours a day.Major Duties and Responsibilities:Create systems and protocols that assist with optimal program functioning.Provide resources and referral information for high risk inner city youth ages 12-21.Develop resources for referral in the following main areas: recreation, education, employment, substance abuse treatment, community service and pro-social activities, as well as any other area of need or interest of program participants.Contribute to ideas for group trips and be responsible for all planning logistics.Manage petty cash distribution and be responsible for all reconciliation paperwork.Create systems for data retrieval and participate in systems data entry for ACS/OCFS.Assist program staff with document retrieval and chart creation and maintenance.Conduct regular internal program and chart audits.Work closely with leadership and program staff to continue to support new and emerging issues as they arise.Skills/Knowledge RequiredA minimum of two years of college/Associates Degree or other equivalent training.A minimum of two years of work experience in a non-profit youth or social service agency.A working knowledge of resources in Brooklyn, and NYC as a whole.Technology ProficientHighly resourceful, with the ability to use online tools and internet searches to identify and access relevant information and resourcesSelf-motivated with the ability to manage tasks and advance projects independentlyGood communication skills, both oral and written.Familiarity with administrative protocols involving dress, demeanor, record keeping, reporting, confidentiality, and use of supplies and equipment.At the Police Athletic League, we seek people who are talented, creative and passionate to help create a more inclusive city and better futures for our youth.
