Working closely with the Director of the Mussafer Internship Initiative and campus partners, this position helps design and manage student-facing programs, engagement strategies, and operational processes that expand access to meaningful, mentored internship experiences. In collaboration with academic units, Career Services teams, and other campus stakeholders, the role supports the design and implementation of digital pathways that guide student engagement and track participation in internship readiness activities. The position also contributes to event coordination, employer and alumni engagement support, and the collection and analysis of participation and outcomes data to inform continuous improvement and demonstrate the impact of the Initiative within Tulane’s broader applied learning ecosystem.

Responsibilities
  • Ability to steward relationships with campus partners, employers, alumni, and other Tulane stakeholders to expand internship opportunities and improve student outcomes.
  • Understanding of internship models, applied learning practices, career development theory, and student decision‑making within higher education.
  • Ability to design, coordinate, and scale student‑facing programs and engagement strategies that support internship readiness and career pathways.
  • Experience utilizing career platforms and engagement technologies (e.g., Suitable, Handshake, CRM systems) to manage pathways, track participation, and support program operations.
  • Ability to collect, interpret, and communicate participation and outcomes data to inform program improvement and strategic storytelling.
  • Ability to work effectively with academic units, Career Services teams (NTC, Freeman CMC, Architecture, SPHTM), Advancement, and external partners to advance initiative goals.
  • Skill in promoting student participation through communication, programming coordination, and readiness initiatives connected to experiential learning.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple timelines, priorities, and events in a dynamic environment.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to represent Tulane Career Services with diverse internal and external audiences.
  • Ability to connect academic, co‑curricular, and student employment experiences to internship readiness and skill development frameworks (e.g., NACE competencies).
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate change, contribute to a growing initiative, and support inclusive practices that expand access to high‑quality internship opportunities.
