Job summary

Westwind School of Aeronautics Phoenix, LLC dba United Aviate Academy is seeking a Progress Check Instructor to evaluate students and ensure mastery of the Aviation Safety Program in accordance with ACS, FAA regulations, the Training Course Outline, and UAA policies.

You will maintain training records, recommend students for DPE evaluation, uphold course standards, and contribute to curriculum improvements, while promoting a safe and professional learning environment.

Qualifications

• Extensive understanding of 14 CFR, FSIMS 8900, and aviation regulations.
• Multiple signoffs in a variety of courses with a high pass rate.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate students to ensure quality and consistency of instruction.
• Maintain student training records and ensure FAA ACS course standards are met.
• Recommend students for evaluation by a Designated Pilot Examiner (DPE).
• Maintain student training records in compliance with 14 CFR Part 141 and UAA policies.
• Ensure course standards, training requirements, and objectives are met for all assigned students.
• Recommend improvements to curriculum and courseware.
• Foster a safe, caring, dependable, and efficient culture with students and staff.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Job description

As a Progress Check Instructor (PCI), you will perform the duties of an evaluator, ensuring students understand and practice all aspects of the United Aviate Academy’s Aviation Safety Program. You will evaluate student progress in accordance with Airman Certification Standards (ACS), FAA regulations, the Training Course Outline (TCO), and UAA policies, maintain training records, and ensure students meet training requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

• Evaluating students to ensure quality and consistency of instruction.
• Maintaining student training records and ensuring FAA ACS course standards are met.
• Recommending students for evaluation by a Designated Pilot Examiner (DPE).
• Maintain student training records in compliance with 14 CFR Part 141 and UAA policies.
• Ensure course standards, training requirements, and objectives are met for all assigned students.
• Recommend improvements to curriculum and courseware.
