Qualifications

• 5+ years in transportation or fleet planning preferred.
• Strong asset-based trucking experience required.
• Experience in load planning, dispatch, or fleet operations.
• Solid knowledge of truckload lanes, rates, HOS, and market dynamics.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Advanced Excel and TMS experience preferred.
• Ability to make quick, profitable decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication, leadership, and accountability skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop daily and 24–72-hour load plans for the entire fleet.
• Ensure each truck has a planned next move before completing its current load.
• Establish and maintain fleet preplanning standards and lane performance.
• Maximize revenue and contribution profit per tractor, per day, and per mile.
• Reduce empty/deadhead miles and optimize repositioning for profitability.
• Identify continuous moves, reloads, round trips, backhauls, and density opportunities.
• Position trucks based on demand, freight availability, lane strength, and market conditions.
• Monitor market trends and lane performance to guide planning decisions.
• Identify trucks at risk of sitting and develop immediate solutions.
• Analyze loads for total profitability including revenue, miles, fuel, and hours.
• Ensure plans are executable within HOS, appointments, home-time, and constraints.
• Balance the network by identifying surplus/deficit markets and repositioning strategies.
• Continuously re-plan when disruptions occur and reallocate resources.
• Collaborate with Dispatch, Sales, and Brokerage to optimize network density.
