Job summary

Mount Aloysius College invites applications for a Professional Tutor at our DuBois location. The 9‑month appointment supports Nursing, Surgical Technology, and Radiography/Medical Imaging programs, starting Spring 2027. The tutor will provide individual and group sessions and coordinate with faculty on student progress.

Qualified candidates hold a PA RN license and a BSN, with preferred master’s in nurse education. Some evening/weekend hours are required.

Qualifications

• Valid, unencumbered PA RN license required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) required.
• Two years of experience as an educator or facilitating educational programs in a hospital, healthcare, or academic environment preferred.
• Master’s degree with nurse educator experience preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to teach or explain complex topics within Health Sciences including Nursing, Surgical Technology, Radiography/Medical Imaging, anatomy, physiology, microbiology, and chemistry.
• Collegiate tutoring experience is strongly preferred.
• This role is not budgeted for visa sponsorship; all candidates must be authorized to work in the US.

Responsibilities

This position is a 9-month appointment, available at the start of the Spring 2027 semester.

Current Opening

The Professional Tutor is responsible for providing individual and group tutoring sessions for students requiring assistance with coursework in the Nursing, Surgical Technology, and Radiography/Medical Imaging programs. This may include individual and small group tutorial sessions on topics that correlate with classroom studies. Additionally, the Professional Tutor meets regularly with faculty for assigned courses to coordinate tutoring efforts and communicate student needs and academic progress. Some evening and weekend hours are required.

Qualifications

Valid, unencumbered PA RN license required. Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) required.
