Job description

Role: Professional Surveyor and Mapper (PSM)

Salary: Open to Negotiable

SIGN ON BONUS: $5,000.00 bonus paid after 3 consecutive months of employment.

Job Summary:

Registered Land Surveyor position available with a Professional Civil Engineering and Land Surveying firm. Must be a self-starter, highly motivated, and have an interest in future ownership opportunities. Candidate must have working knowledge utilizing GPS base rover, total station, TDS, and Carlson software data collection software and equipment experience.

Responsibilities:

1. Perform all aspects of land surveying, GPS control, control using total stations, ALTA surveys, property surveys, topography and existing conditions surveys, utility and as-built recovery, and construction stakeout.
2. Assist survey technicians with production of mapping products and computations.
3. Other duties as assigned related to field data.

Required Skills & Experience:

1. A minimum of 5 years working experience.
2. Ability to operate Total Stations and fluent in GPS, static, RTK, and RTN collection protocols.
3. Familiarity with Carlson SurvCE and TDS software is a plus.
4. Sufficient knowledge to handle most survey-related tasks in the field, including the ability to review and understand construction drawings and perform associated layout.
5. Experience in reading and understanding deeds and plats.
6. Experience in recovery of boundary evidence in the field.
7. Ability to collect as-built and topography data, provide sketches, and work with survey technicians to develop mapping products.
8. Ability to work remotely for long periods under rigorous conditions.
9. Utility locating experience is a plus.
10. Excellent communication skills.
11. Must be reliable.

Additional Requirements:

1. Must understand the importance of the deliverable and have a track record of ownership regarding all projects and assignments and be a team player.
2. Must have and maintain a valid driver's license in order to operate a company vehicle.
