Overview

Are you motivated and eager to grow your career in refrigeration? Hussmann’s team of Technicians maintain, diagnose, and repair HVAC/R in supermarkets, convenience stores, and cold storage facilities.

Responsibilities

1. Perform routine maintenance on supermarket refrigeration systems and self-contained merchandisers.
2. Match customer needs with sales opportunities and diagnose issues accurately and quickly.
3. Manage truck inventory, order and maintain parts responsibly, and keep the vehicle in good condition.
4. Complete documentation and communicate professionally using electronic devices.
5. Utilize tools and techniques to install and troubleshoot refrigeration components, including coils, glass doors, sensors, and more.
6. Identify, troubleshoot, and size thermostatic expansion valves, pressure regulators, and other components.
7. Understand and work with various refrigeration systems, controls, and schematics.
8. Detect and repair leaks, conduct compressor diagnostics, and perform complex repairs.
9. Mentor other technicians and lead preventative maintenance programs.
10. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma/GED required; HVAC-R Technical School Degree preferred.

Experience: 7 years in the field or 5 years with technical certification for external candidates; 3 years as a certified technician for internal candidates.

Additional Requirements

• Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
• Physical ability to perform manual tasks and work at heights.
• Excellent communication skills, mechanical aptitude, and motivation.
• Ability to work nights and weekends as needed.
• Knowledge of refrigeration and HVAC systems preferred.
• EPA 608 Universal Certification required.
