Position Overview:
KEITH is seeking a qualifiedProfessional Senior Surveyor and Mapperto provide in-house support to the FDOT District 4 Surveying and Mapping Section. This role requires a Florida-licensed Surveying & Mapping Professional with advanced technical expertise, strong project management capabilities, and experience with FDOT standards and processes. The position is based onsite at the FDOT District 4 office and plays a key role in ensuring the consistency, quality, and accuracy of surveying and mapping deliverables.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage surveying and mapping projects, including planning, coordinating, scheduling, and directing daily work activities.
Oversee technical components such as computations, drafting, legal description preparation, and quality assurance reviews.
Assign and supervise work for surveying and mapping staff, providing guidance and setting expectations for schedules and deliverables.
Ensure all work adheres to FDOT policies, procedures, and District Four standards.
Prepare and/or review scopes of service and staff hour estimates for surveying and mapping services including sketch and legal descriptions.
Monitor project progress, maintain scheduling alignment with FDOT’s 5-year plan, and provide regular status reports to the unit manager.
Ensure timely distribution of completed surveying and mapping products.
Review consultant submittals for compliance with FDOT standards, procedures, scopes of service, and regulatory requirements.
Identify and resolve technical discrepancies and issues in collaboration with FDOT managers and staff.
Perform other related duties as directed by the FDOT Manager to support the Surveying and Mapping Unit.
Required Certifications & Licenses:
Florida-licensed Professional Surveyor and Mapper (required).
Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience in surveying and mapping, with a thorough understanding of FDOT standards and procedures.
Strong project management and leadership skills with the ability to coordinate multiple assignments effectively.
Proven ability to review and assess technical submittals and deliverables.
Excellent communication skills for team collaboration and technical discussions.
Computer & Software Proficiency:
MicroStation
Microsoft Office 365, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
Ability to quickly learn and utilize additional software as needed to complete assignments.
