• Develop and implement litigation strategies, including case assessment, discovery planning, dispositive motions, settlement negotiations, trial preparation, and appeals.
• Serve as a trusted adviser to existing clients, including insurance carriers, third-party administrators, professional firms, and corporate clients.
• Manage key client relationships and provide timely, practical, and commercially focused legal advice.
• Develop and execute a business development strategy to expand the firm's professional liability practice.
• Cultivate relationships with insurers, brokers, claims professionals, in-house counsel, professional associations, and referral sources.

Founded 40+ years ago, this is a national litigation law firm, with over 200 attorneys, that provides legal services to businesses, insurance companies, and other organizations across a wide range of industries.

Role:

The Professional Liability Partner will lead and manage a sophisticated professional liability litigation practice, representing professionals, professional service firms, insurers, and other institutional clients in complex claims, disputes, and risk management matters. The successful candidate will bring substantial experience in professional negligence defense, insurance-related litigation, client relationship management, and business development.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the defense of complex professional liability claims involving attorneys, accountants, architects, engineers, insurance brokers, real estate professionals, directors and officers, and other professional service providers, as appropriate to the firm's practice.
• Develop and implement litigation strategies, including case assessment, discovery planning, dispositive motions, settlement negotiations, trial preparation, and appeals.
• Serve as a trusted adviser to existing clients, including insurance carriers, third-party administrators, professional firms, and corporate clients.
• Manage key client relationships and provide timely, practical, and commercially focused legal advice.
• Develop and execute a business development strategy to expand the firm's professional liability practice.
• Cultivate relationships with insurance companies, brokers, claims professionals, in-house counsel, professional associations, and referral sources.

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

• Base Salary: $200-300k+, commensurate with experience.
