Wilson Elser seeks a client-focused Of Counsel or Partner-level attorney specializing in professional liability and malpractice defense. This leadership role targets a seasoned practitioner with a track record defending legal and accounting professionals and firms.

The position offers a flexible hybrid or remote arrangement in California, with opportunities to grow across cross‑disciplinary teams and contribute to firm growth. California licensure is required.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Admitted to practice in California.
• 10+ years of litigation experience with focus on legal/accounting malpractice a plus.
• Experience managing complex, multi‑party litigation and advising on regulatory matters.
• National-level experience and familiarity with class actions and multistate matters preferred.

Responsabilités

• Lead counsel in litigation involving legal and accounting malpractice.
• Advise clients on risk management, ethics, licensing, partnership matters, M&A activity, and internal governance.
• Proactively manage a litigation caseload from start to finish.
• Conduct legal research on transportation laws, regulations, and standards.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, memoranda, and other documents.
• Attend court hearings, depositions, and mediations.
• Negotiate settlements and advocate for clients.
• Grow client relationships with a focus on long-term engagements.
• Collaborate across practice groups to offer comprehensive legal solutions.
• Mentor junior attorneys and contribute to business development.
